PROGRAMME SCOPE

B.E., CSE - Cyber Security with intake of 60 started in 2023, offered by the Computer Science and Engineering Department provides the budding engineers with a spectacular array of courses dedicated to frontiers in the field of Cyber Security with the foundation of Computer Science and Engineering. This course aims to sharpen the students' skills and academic knowledge in the rapidly flourishing field of Cyber Security through academic teaching, practical lab sessions and industry collaboration. The certifications enhance the placement opportunities and are provided at a minimal cost as student offer. Developing knowledge, understanding and skills in cyber-security theory and hands-on experience by exploring a wide range of cutting-edge techniques and tools. This is a specialized branch of Computer Science and Engineering in which students get the technical knowledge in the Computer Science and Engineering, Cyber Security, Digital Forensic and emerging areas such as Device Security and Forensics

The learning scope of Cybersecurity covers the protection of digital systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. It is a fast-evolving field with wide applications across government, business, and personal environments.

Cybersecurity is a critical and high-demand domain focused on protecting digital infrastructure, data, networks, and systems from cyber threats. As cyber risks evolve, the Career Progression in this field offers diverse and rewarding paths for professionals at all levels. Typical progression path are Ethical Hacker, Cybersecurity Engineer, Threat Intelligence Analyst, Digital Forensics Analyst.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

PO1: Engineering Knowledge:

Apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, computing, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to develop the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2: Problem Analysis:

Identify, formulate, review research literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions with consideration for sustainable development.

PO3: Design/Development of Solutions:

Design creative solutions for complex engineering problems and design/develop systems/components/processes to meet identified needs with consideration for public health and safety, whole-life cost, net zero carbon, culture, society, and environment as required.

PO4: Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems:

Conduct investigations of complex engineering problems using research-based knowledge including design of experiments, modelling, analysis & interpretation of data to provide valid conclusions.

PO5: Engineering Tool Usage:

Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering & IT tools, including prediction and modelling recognizing their limitations to solve complex engineering problems.

PO6: The Engineer and The World:

Analyze and evaluate societal and environmental aspects while solving complex engineering problems for its impact on sustainability with reference to economy, health, safety, legal framework, culture, and environment.

PO7: Ethics:

Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics, human values, diversity and inclusion; adhere to national & international laws.

Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse/multi-disciplinary teams.

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

PSO1:

To develop complex cyber security projects with consideration of the human, financial, and ethical policies to understand the risk management processes, operations and implementations.

PSO2:

To have a strong theoretical foundation on ethical policies and to develop a perfect defense systems providing mechanism towards threats, cybercrimes and cyber-attacks thus providing a secured environment to the society.
