INTRODUCTION
National Service Scheme cell of Sree Sakthi Engineering College in collaboration with Rotary club and Lotus eye hospital conducted Glaucoma eye awareness rally on 12.03.2024 at 10 am in Mettupalayam. The Glaucoma Awareness Rally was a significant event aimed at educating the public about glaucoma, raising awareness about its risk factors, symptoms, and preventive measures. The rally attracted a diverse audience including healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and members of the general public.

OBJECTIVES
• To raise awareness about glaucoma and its impact on vision health.
• To educate the public about the risk factors, symptoms, and preventive measures associated with glaucoma.
• To promote early detection and timely treatment of glaucoma to prevent vision loss.
• To provide a platform for individuals affected by glaucoma to share their experiences and seek support.
ACTIVITIES
Awareness March: A march through the local community was organized to raise visibility for the cause and attract attention to the importance of eye health.
Guest Speakers: The rally featured expert speakers including ophthalmologists, optometrists, and researchers specializing in glaucoma who shared insights into the disease, its prevalence, and the importance of regular eye screenings.
Information Booths: Various booths were set up to provide educational materials, pamphlets, and brochures detailing glaucoma, its risk factors, and management options. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with healthcare professionals and ask questions.
Vision Screening: Free eye screenings were conducted onsite to assess individuals for signs of glaucoma or other vision-related issues. Referrals were provided for those requiring further evaluation or treatment.
OUTCOMES
