ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has been successfully functioning since 2001. The main objective of the department is to provide a platform through which stakeholders can acquire knowledge about advanced emerging technologies. At present, the department has expanded to 150 students with 4 UG programs: BE (CSE), BE CSE (AI&ML), BE CSE (CYBER SECURITY), and BE CSE (AI&DS). The ability of the students to learn makes it easier for the industry-trained, experienced faculty to produce top-notch engineers who are being recruited by reputed companies all over the world. Comprising a dynamic blend of faculty, researchers, and students, it is a hub for intellectual exploration and cutting-edge advancement. Continuous interactions with the industry help our students brace themselves to absorb into the industry and pursue higher studies abroad. As its core, the department focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of computing, ranging from algorithms and data structures to artificial intelligence and software engineering. Faculty members, often experts in diverse fields, impart knowledge that equips students with problem-solving skills crucial for a rapidly evolving technological landscape. COMPUTER LABORATORY

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering Lab serves as a practical hub for students to explore theoretical concepts through hands-on experimentation. Equipped with computers, software tools, and networking infrastructure, it offers an environment for coding, debugging, and testing algorithms. In this dynamic space, students engage in activities ranging from programming assignments to simulation exercises, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through guided experiments and independent projects, they gain proficiency in software development, data analysis, and system administration. The computer science lab bridges the gap between theory and application, preparing students for real world challenges in technology-driven industries. A round-the-clock internet facility is there.

  • All computer labs and servers are supported by UPS system with good backup. In addition, the labs are supported by a generator.
  • Centralized AC is provided for all laboratories.
  • Availability of computer systems to all the students at a 1:1 ratio.
  • All the systems are connected to the LAN. All labs are powered through UPS.
  • 150 computers with fast internet facilities.

LAB GUIDO VAN ROSSUM-CC1

The "Guido van Rossum Lab" named after Guido van Rossum, the creator of the Python programming language, the lab embodies his innovative spirit and commitment to open-source collaboration. The laboratory consists of state-of-art infrastructure with high-end configuration computing equipment supported by high-speed Ethernet and wireless networks. This lab is provided with high-speed internet connectivity around the clock. It is equipped with a wide variety of proprietary and open-source software for experimenting with real world concepts. Some software is Python 3.11, Java 1.8, Turbo C++ etc., with the help of which the students can build their own code and learn how to develop programming skills to take place in the real world.

THE ALAN KAY LAB-CC2

Named after Alan Kay, a pioneering computer scientist known for his influential work at Xerox PARC and his contributions to object-oriented programming and graphical user interfaces, the lab embodies his ethos of interdisciplinary exploration and innovation. RDBMS Laboratory is a futuristic lab with premium systems and high-speed internet connectivity. This lab aims at developing the students with excellent skills in database creation and management by providing a strong formal foundation in database concepts, technology, and practice to the participants to groom them into well-informed database application developers. Major software in this laboratory includes MYSQL, Oracle 11G, IBM Rational Rose, Argo UML, ASP.NET, PHP, Visual Studio etc.

JOHN MCCARTHY LEARNING-CC3

John McCarthy was one of the most influential people in the field. He is known as the "father of artificial intelligence" because of his fantastic work in computer science and AI. McCarthy coined the term "artificial intelligence" in the 1950s. He defined it as "science and engineering of making machines that are smart."


Mobile apps mean a lot to us. In the mobile application laboratory, students are actively engaged in developing various applications for Android mobile phones with the help of Android Studio, Kotlin etc. Brilliant Bird Technologies, Coimbatore, has signed an MOU to train the students to develop various mobile app and Integrated AI labs.
