VISION

To train the students in order to have in-depth knowledge in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering, thereby producing innovative, creative and ethical Electronics and Communication Engineers.

The department strives to continually engage in:

Ensuring effective teaching and learning process to provide in-depth knowledge of concepts and its applications relevant to Electronics and Communication Engineering and Interdisciplinary areas
To inculcate innovative thinking through hard work and creativity which enhances the skills to become entrepreneur, to get high employability and research capabilities.
Providing industry and department interactions through internship and sponsored research.

ELECTRONIC & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

In order to meet the wide ranging, challenging and very rapidly growing Global Demands for “Professional Electronics and Communication Engineers” in this Hi-Tech Era, the Department of “Electronics and Communication Engineering” was established since inception of the college in the year 2010.

The First year Core Curriculum begins with a common knowledge base and customizes Students by grounding in basic Engineering Foundation and in Critical Hands-on Skills in Engineering Practices. The Course has access to enhance the Learning, Student Perspective and Experience to develop Specialization in areas of ‘Electronics and Communication Engineering’. Class room learning is complemented by practicals in Hi-Tech Labs, Projects and Hands on Experiences, so as to foster Knowledge in ‘Engineering and Technology’.

The Department strives to develop long Term relationships with Industries and market the Student’s Talents effectively. The Students are thus provided high level ‘Leads and Pathways’ that enable them to gain access to a broad range of ‘high potential’ and ‘hi-tech’ Career Opportunities.

In a very short span of time since the Department was launched in our College, it has made a name for itself, among the Top few Colleges, at the University level, through Seminars, Symposia, Workshops, and Conferences and also through its performance in the Examinations and Placement.

The Curriculum adopted is of ‘Semester System’ and is spread over a period of four years; the Programme is affiliated to Anna University .

The initial Intake was 60; Considering the very steep increase in Global Demands and on the basis of Academic Strength of our Department, the Annual Intake had been enhanced to 120 and is steady, since the year 2012.

The Department is marching ahead with the Introduction of Master’s Program, ME VLSI Design since 2012-2013 with an Intake of 18. INFRASTRUCTURE

The Department is well equipped with state-of-the art laboratories and infrastructural facilities in all the thrust areas. Students get a wide exposure and practical hands on training in the sophisticated equipment’s during their lab sessions.

ELECTRONICS CIRCUITS LAB

This Lab includes Electronics Circuit I, Electronics Circuits II, Electronics Devices and Design Laboratory. This Lab consists of all types of measuring instruments and cathode ray oscilloscope, audio oscillators, function generators and various types of decade boxes. A Software such as MATLAB, EMTP are taught to the students in this lab to enable them to design, analyze & simulate and even compare with industry.This has been found to give immense practical utility to the students in their future career.

ANALOG & DIGITAL DEVICES LAB

This laboratory includes Linear Integrated Circuits, Digital Electronics and VLSI. The field helps the students to get exposure about the analog ICs and Digital ICs performances and some applications. It also helps the students to design the given specification and requirements and also to check for the functionality.
The circuits can be realized and implemented using special tools like MODELSIM, XILINX (Project Navigator) etc., which helps the students an immense industrial atmosphere. The laboratory is fully air conditioned.

DSP LABORATORY

The DSP Laboratory helps the students to have an idea in processor programming and also to implement the logic codes. The laboratory has about 30 systems and processor kits of about 40. The laboratory is fully conditioned with processor simulating tools.

COMMUNICATION SYSTEM LABORATORY

This Laboratory includes Digital Communication Systems and RF Laboratory which helps the students to get a practical exposure in modulation techniques and sampling process. The laboratory is fully equipped with Antenna models, CRO (Digital Storage Oscilloscope) and communication kits. MICROPROCESSOR AND MICRO-CONTROLLER LABORATORY

The laboratory creates a practical idea in coding the processor and controller in assembly language. NETWORK LABORATORY
